We have provided support to interventions in numerous Pacific Island countries, including the Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Tuvalu and Vanuatu and Fiji.

This work has included advising on sector governance reform, operating projects in challenging environments and managing demand-driven Technical Assistance facilities and mechanisms.

Past work includes:

♦ Designing and implementing the Fiji Dairy Development Initiative (FDIDI) from 2016-2020, working with the Government of Fiji and local industry stakeholders to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the dairy industry, with a particular focus on its smallholder farmers.

♦ Preparing a successful proposal in conjunction with Rarotonga-based Pacific Consultants Ltd to help the Cook Islands secure US $3 million to help front-foot climate change. Money from the international Adaption Fund is now helping Cook Islanders living on the remote Pa Enua islands adapt to and prepare for hazards such as coastal erosion from sea level rise, ocean acidification, tropical cyclones and drought.

♦ Working with the Government of Kiribati develop a four-year national development plan, covering all aspects of the economy and government services, to help the Pacific Island nation address serious challenges caused by its remote location, small land area and high population growth.
