Japan

We have worked on assignments in Japan’s food safety, biosecurity, tourism and education sectors

We have also hosted Japanese researchers in New Zealand, sharing lessons learned from the country’s livestock industries.

We hosted researchers from the Japan Agriculture & Livestock Industries Corporation (ALIC) in New Zealand in 2019.

ALIC is a semi-governmental organisation in Japan, attached to the country’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries.

It collects information about current international trends in the production, supply and demand of agricultural products and shares it with Japanese farmers and agriculture industry through free monthly journals and a website.

Its researchers were interested in New Zealand's dairy-related environmental regulations and management practices.

Our other past work in Japan includes:

♦ Conducting market development activities in Japan for a food safety and biosecurity risk assessment tool developed in New Zealand, on behalf of the EpiCentre at Massey University in 2002.

♦ Developing tourism and education business links for New Zealand companies in Tokyo in association with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise in 2001 and 2002.
