Our current major focus is in Zambia, where we are implementing the Zambia Dairy Transformation Programme (2016-2021), focused on sustainably strengthening the Zambian dairy value chain by increasing the quality and quantity of milk produced by smallholder farmers for commercial sale.
The programme aims to influence smallholder, emergent and commercial dairy farmers across the country. Its areas of direct operations are in Central Province and the Copperbelt.
Funded by the New Zealand Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade, the programme's desired long-term outputs are enhanced growth and sustainability of the national dairy sector and improved health of the Zambian population.
Other past work on the African continent includes:
♦ Reviewing the business model for a climate-friendly agriculture business in the North-Western Province of Zambia in 2020.
♦ Conducting an investment feasibility study for livestock industry investments in Ethiopia on behalf of a private client in 2019.
♦ Designing a development plan for the dairy industry in Ethiopia and organising an industry study tour to New Zealand (2016-2018).
♦ Conducting a feasibility study and business plan for a beef and goat project in Rwanda on behalf of USAID and the Government of Rwanda (2017-2018).
