Ms Ulamila Kura-i-Marrie Vakalalabure-Wragg
Ms Ulamila Kura-i-Marrie Vakalalabure-Wragg is a specialist in gender, indigenous issues and social safeguards, with experience supporting institutions and projects focused on climate change, the environment and the social dimensions of development.
She brings strong expertise in community and gender-inclusive consultation, participatory mapping, gender action planning and research and policy writing for a wide range of audiences, including policymakers and community leaders.
Her skills include managing social impact assessments and social management plans, with specialist insight into gender-based violence and involuntary resettlement. She is also knowledgeable in climate finance, bringing a strong understanding of Green Climate Fund policy frameworks.
Ms Vakalalabure-Wragg holds a Master of Politics from the University of Otago in New Zealand and a Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomacy and International Affairs from the University of the South Pacific in Fiji.
She is currently completing a PhD in Pacific Studies with the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, focusing on the agency of women and gender within the diverse indigenous land systems in the Pacific Islands.
