Engineering and Infrastructure Global Practice Lead
Mr Alastair King is a highly accomplished Civil Engineer and Project Director with 20 years of experience delivering complex infrastructure programmes across New Zealand and the wider Pacific.
His career has spanned contracting, consulting and client-side roles and he approaches every project the same: practically and pragmatically, bringing a depth of on-site experience with him that bridges the gap between design intent and what actually works.
With an MBA from the University of Canterbury and diplomas in civil engineering and infrastructure procurement, he brings a strong governance mindset alongside deep technical expertise.
Mr King has significant experience managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on marine infrastructure in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. His expertise includes the full project lifecycle—from feasibility and planning through to design, consenting and construction. He has also led multiple Cultural Impact Assessments (CIAs) and successfully integrated their outcomes into project design, consenting and delivery.
Mr King is a member of Engineering New Zealand and the Society of Construction Contract Practitioners.
